The Vauxhall camera was a re-badged and slightly altered Rifax manufactured in Germany. Offering a very good specification closely aimed at the aspiring "advanced" amateur of the day and there was then some kudos placed of the "fast" 2.9 lens. It was very good value for the money but it is as well to remember that the average wage in the UK in 1937 (the date of this advertisement) was only about £3 per week.  So even at this price it still represented maybe a month's wages for the average person.
